Charlotte Tilbury's The Retoucher - Review

Inspired by the "magic" retoucher pen of the professional photographer, Charlotte Tilbury has created a breakthrough concealer that makes imperfections disappear with the click of a button and she desribes the benefits of this concealer on her website as :

* A hydrating complex keeps skin plumped up and moisturised for a natural, luminous finish

* A black tea derivative, rich in vitamins, fills in hollowed out skin grooves, creating a smooth, seamless surface

* A breakthrough Lipo-Siliconic compound and special elastomer pearls create an invisible plaster over the imperfections, creating a natural, traceless finish.

NAIL TREND AUTUMN/ WINTER 2013/14

Burgundy and Oxford blood red are the trend colors for the season autumn/winter 2013/14 and if you are getting tired of the summer pastels and corals then this is a nice change for your nails. I think both shades are great autumn colors, very expensive and classy looking and they suit all skin tones.
Here are some of my favorite burgundy and dark red OPI nail polishes to try.

High-street fashion favorites - Autumn/Winter 2013

Last September, we created a fashion editorial inspired by the autumnal colors of the Autumn/Winter 2014 season.

Stylist Sandra Pawlowska-Nahlik used solely affordable High-street fashion favorites like coats, pencil skirts, chunky knits and jumpsuits.
Sandra combined the vibrant tones like purple, plums, mykonos blue, burgundy and samba red with soft pastels like dusty pinks and creams. The colors are bold and yet ultra-feminine and wearable to most occasions, including the office.

The makeup I did for the photo shoot was inspired by the tones of the falling leafs, so for Danielle I choose dark red lipstick combined with soft brown crème eyeshadow with orange undertones. Aisling is rocking a seventies inspired Smokey Eye in metallic grey mixed with silver glitter and black creme eyeshadow together. As her eyes are quite strong, I only used a nude lipstick and added some contour to the cheeks. On Sara I used oxford blood red lipstick paired with a faint of a warn pink blush on the apple of the cheeks. I lined the waterline with a black kohl eyeliner and then I applied ultra-thin black liquid eyeliner to the lids.

The very talented fashion photographer Antonina Zharko choose the Bolands Mill old factory in Dublin as the backdrop for the shoot.
Antonina wanted the location to look very 1940's and we decorated the set according the theme. We used vintage crockery, tablecloths, books and the ground was covered with wood pieces, leafs, dark red apples and goose feathers. As the shoot was outdoors, the wind helped us creating the autumnal atmosphere by whirling the feathers and the leafs on set.

Charlotte Tilbury's Filmstar Bronze & Glow - Review and Swatches

International make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury's launched her first cosmetic line in September 2013 at the counters at Selfridges London. I just couldn't wait to get my hands on the collection and since I had no plans jetting over to London any time soon, I ordered few items from Selfridge's online store, namely, Filmstar Bronze & Glow, Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder and the Retoucher.

First in line to be reviewed is the Charlotte Tilbury's Filmstar Bronze & Glow and its safe to say that this is a highlighter and bronzer I've been looking for all my life. I have never come across a sculpting face powder with such a natural and yet luminous effect. It is very flattering and not flat; it doesn't dry my skin or makes it look cakey. The powder is so finely milled, feels silky to touch and is easy to blend.
The packaging is sleek metallic design in rose gold and feels quite heavy in hand. It has a very glamour's and luxurious feel. The compact contains a mirror and two separate compartments for the highlight and the bronze. There is no brush included.
