How to curl your hair like a PRO

I love the Beach Babe Wavy Hair - this one of my favorite hair styles, and together with the belayage colour it has been my signature look now for more than three years.  My hair is naturally wavy, which helps hold the curl longer, but I also use the Aveda Smooth Infusion Style Prep Smoother to create a smooth surface -  that way the curling wand glides better and also protects my hair from the heat, and the result is always soft, frizz-free curls. My favorite curling wand is Mark Hill Rock Chick Wave Wand, but you can really use any curling wand.
This is how I curl my hair - for the best results I  recommend you always start with a clean and blow dryed hair.

STEP 1

Divide your hair into two sections; bottom and top layer.

STEP2

Start with the bottom layer, take a two cm hair strand and wrap it tightly around the barrel, while holding it in a vertical position - make sure to leave the ends out. And also wear a protective glove, it usually comes with the curling wand, although I am always too lazy to wear one, I rather keep burning my fingers.

STEP 3

Hold the iron in this position for about 5 second, but never longer than that.

STEP 4

Release the hair and pull the curling iron out and repeat the same procedure with the rest of the hair.

STEP 5

On the top layer, start curling your hair from the ear level down for a  modern look.



Mark Hill Rock Chick Wave Wand

And voila, sexy wavy salon hair made in the comfort of your home. Don't over do it though as the heat can demage your hair. If you hair is already heat demaged, one and cheap and cheerful but very effective deep hair treatment is just to heat two tea spoons of coconut or olive oil and aply it to your end and leave it in as long as possible.  Happy curling girlies!

Charlotte Tilbury's Filmstar Bronze & Glow - Review and Swatches

International make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury's launched her first cosmetic line in September 2013 at the counters at Selfridges London. I just couldn't wait to get my hands on the collection and since I had no plans jetting over to London any time soon, I ordered few items from Selfridge's online store, namely, Filmstar Bronze & Glow, Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder and the Retoucher.

First in line to be reviewed is the Charlotte Tilbury's Filmstar Bronze & Glow and its safe to say that this is a highlighter and bronzer I've been looking for all my life. I have never come across a sculpting face powder with such a natural and yet luminous effect. It is very flattering and not flat; it doesn't dry my skin or makes it look cakey. The powder is so finely milled, feels silky to touch and is easy to blend.
The packaging is sleek metallic design in rose gold and feels quite heavy in hand. It has a very glamour's and luxurious feel. The compact contains a mirror and two separate compartments for the highlight and the bronze. There is no brush included.

shu uemura eyelash curler and ultimate natural mascara

Eyelash curler!!! I have tried them all, and I wonder why it took me this long to finally try shu uemura eyelash curler. I love this little thing! Highly, highly, highly recommend this curler.

Shu uemura eyelash curler has a rounded pad so you end up with a nice, long-lasting curl rather than the awkward crimp that most curlers give you. I find the curl is even across my lashes, smooth and without ridges.

I heat the curler up just slightly with a hairdryer and all it takes are a couple of 15-second presses to keep them curled and natural looking all day.

Just to test the curler out, I curled my lashes without adding any mascara and I have to say my lashes were still curled after 8 hours later.

Here in Ireland the eye lash curler costs 25 Euros, so it’s pretty pricey, however worth every cent!

It's unfortunate that you have to buy a whole new curler instead of just the refill pads, but I suppose you get what you pay for.
