Charlotte Tilbury's The Retoucher - Review

Inspired by the "magic" retoucher pen of the professional photographer, Charlotte Tilbury has created a breakthrough concealer that makes imperfections disappear with the click of a button and she desribes the benefits of this concealer on her website as :

* A hydrating complex keeps skin plumped up and moisturised for a natural, luminous finish

* A black tea derivative, rich in vitamins, fills in hollowed out skin grooves, creating a smooth, seamless surface

* A breakthrough Lipo-Siliconic compound and special elastomer pearls create an invisible plaster over the imperfections, creating a natural, traceless finish.

I only purchased this concealer a few weeks ago, and I already can't live without it. Ladies, this product is absolutely fantastic. I sampled tons of concealers; YSL Touche Eclat, Estee Lauder Double Wear, MAC Select Moisturecover Concealer, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, Tom Ford Illuminating Highlight Pen you name it, but this little gem beats them all.

This concealer that comes in a large rose gold clicker pen with a brush on the end, you click the top of the pen to release the concealer into the brush, apply, and then blend with a finger, makeup brush or sponge.

Coverage is excellent - it does a great job of covering under-eye circles and just lightening up that area.

It also conceal well blemishes without caking or creasing. I touched up a couple of times during the day and it always looked fresh.
You can also use it as hightlighter and apply it to your highpoints of the face.
Texture of concealer is quite thick but yet smooth. It blends well and does seem to reflect light in a good, but not shimmery way, and doesn't settle into the small creases near my eyes.

In the photo I am wearing the shade 2 Fair, and it matches my skin perfectly. Also think that is a shade that will suit most light to medium complexions. The shade 4 Medium will suit best dark olive and latin complexions. I am also planning purchasing  other shades for my makeup kit to use on clients.

I will definitely repurchase and let me tell you, that's something I have never done before with a concealer, as I am always on a look out for the next best thing! Yes, It's a bit expensive, but in my opinion it is really worth the price. Think that's enough said!

Have you tried Charlotte Tilbury's Retoucher yet?

    1. Hi there, no it would be to dark for you, number 1 would suit your skin tone better. I would say Number 2 is more NW20. Hope this helps :)

Thank you for the reply. I think I'm gonna go for shade#3 since it should match better with my nc35 skin.

  4. I have nc25 skin and I was wondering if the Number 2 shade would work for me. I would be ordering the product online from the Selfridges website because the ship the the states and I don't want to have to send it back to exchange it from another color. I have wanted to try this for a while but have held off because of the international shipping. I just can't hold off any longer haha. Thanks for any advice you can give!

  6. This looks lovely. I have light olive skin but I usually use the Touche Eclat in shade 2. I tend to find it works for me. Number one also looks pretty as a highlighter.

Which do you think would best suit for the touche eclat number 2?

    Laura.

    1. Hi Laura, I much prefer the Retoucher to Touche Eclat as this highlights and conceals at the same time. I would suggest you buy the number 2 - this one be good enough as highlighter too. x
