Charlotte Tilbury's Filmstar Bronze & Glow - Review and Swatches

International make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury's launched her first cosmetic line in September 2013 at the counters at Selfridges London. I just couldn't wait to get my hands on the collection and since I had no plans jetting over to London any time soon, I ordered few items from Selfridge's online store, namely, Filmstar Bronze & Glow, Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder and the Retoucher.

First in line to be reviewed is the Charlotte Tilbury's Filmstar Bronze & Glow and its safe to say that this is a highlighter and bronzer I've been looking for all my life. I have never come across a sculpting face powder with such a natural and yet luminous effect. It is very flattering and not flat; it doesn't dry my skin or makes it look cakey. The powder is so finely milled, feels silky to touch and is easy to blend.
The packaging is sleek metallic design in rose gold and feels quite heavy in hand. It has a very glamour's and luxurious feel. The compact contains a mirror and two separate compartments for the highlight and the bronze. There is no brush included.

Highlight
This is nice warm golden beige that gives a glow to your skin, rather than shimmer or sparkle. It looks amazing on the skin and reflects like soft candlelight on your face, it makes my skin look almost angelic. I apply it to the high points where the sun hits the face naturally such as temples, top of my cheekbones, center of the nose and the cupids bow.
I also have High Beam and Watt's up by Benefit, MAC Color Bases, Tom Ford Illuminate and Shade and few other highlighters but this one is by far the best.

Sculpt
I would describe the color of the sculpting bronzer as soft caramel beige with slight red undertones. It does resemble a natural tan when applied with a light hand without looking muddy or fake. It has a really subtle glow about it that makes my skin look vibrant and youthful without screaming bronzer all over my face.
When I use the highlight and bronze together, it gives me a nice sculpted look that photographs amazingly, and my cheekbones seem to stand out even more than usual. Photos of evidence included, just in case don't believe me. Also check out the video below where I am reviewing this product and other Charlotte Tilbury products.

Charlotte Tilbury's Powder & Sculpt Brush
I also purchased Charlotte Tilbury's Powder & Sculpt brush which is designed for facial sculpting and highlighting. The tapered end allows you to shade the hollows of your cheeks or temples and highlight your cheekbones, nose or even the bow of your lip. You can also use it as a precision powder brush to avoid overloading the face with powder. The brush is quite compact, feels soft on the face and is not prickly in the least. It picks up just the right amount of product and distributes it evenly.

The handles are dark burgundy and are made from wood, the ferrules are rose gold, and the brush is designed not to roll off the table. Also her logo is engraved on the handle; this will ensure that it won't fade too quickly with constant usage as some logos can.

I am very happy with the products so far, and will definitely purchase more of Charlotte Tilbury's products.

Have you tried any Charlotte Tilbury's products yet?

I have just received my bar of gold by Charlotte Tilbury. as I'm a fan of highlighters I must say I like it. it has the glow but does have small glitter too but doesn't look so bad. it's good for evening and parties not for everyday. however was really disappointed in the packaging it's made out of shiny card board and the size is tiny and it cost me £30.

  4. It goes beautifully with your brunette colouring. You're lucky to have such bone structure, haha. Have you ever tried the Guerlain bronzers? I wish Charlotte did this bronzer in a darker shade for people like me !
