Aromatherapy Holiday First Aid Kit



Whats do you need in your Holiday First Aid Kit - below are the only essential oils you will need and your will be protected from head and toe.

Tea Tree essential oil is one oils that every one has to have and is the best for first aid and protection. Its also good for fungal infection, mouth ulcers and pains, it increase white blood cell production to help fight infection.

Lavender essential oil is another oil that everyone needs to have in their first aid kit. It has excellent granulation promoting properties - this effect helps in healing where there has been damage or removal of tissue. This is where Aromatherapy started when Rene Gattefosse burnt himself in an accident in the laboratory. He observed the rapid healing and pain relief given when he used neat lavender on his wounds. For sunburn, mix 5 drops of Lavender oil with 15 ml Aloe Vera gel and apply to the sun burnt skin. You can also add 1 drop Peppermint for extra cooling sensation. Lavender has also deeply relaxing properties and can help you fall asleep easier.

Eucalyptus essential oil has a expectorant properties meaning expels matter from the body. It promotes the discharge of phlegm and mucus from the lungs thus making coughing easier and encouraging the natural elimination and congestion. For flue and colds, mix 5 drops of Eucalyptus Essential oil with 5 drops of Lavander and 5 drops of Tea Tree in 30 ml oil or lotion of your choice and apply to to your throat and your chest before you go to bed. Citronella and Lavender have excellent insect repellent properties. Mix 5 drops in 15ml Body lotion before you go to bed.

Peppermint  essential oil is an analgesic, and is great for nausea and vomiting, headaches and migraines. Also helps with colds, flu and sinuses. Apply a drop of peppermint to the temples and forehead and the back of your neck to relieve headaches and migraines. Also it relives hot feet and its generally good for cooling the body if you can’t handle the heat on your holiday.

Fennel essential oil  purges the toxins out the body, also great for insect bites and is also a good deodorizer for air purification. Fennel and Peppermint essential oil can also relieve intestinal gas, pain and stomach distension.
If you have caught yourself a stomach bug simply mix on drop of fennel essential oil in 1 tea spoon of honey and eat it - if you don’t have honey - you can also mix 1 drop of fennel oil with 150 ml warm water and drink it - make sure your close to the toilet though. Don’t use fennel on if you have a history of estrogen based cancer.
