Can't believe it's Christmas already. I have been really busy this year. Being a makeup artist, beauty blogger and also working full-time in the office it didn't leave me much spare time for my friends and family this year. This is all about to change next year. Hopefully.
Anyways, enough of sentimentality, if you are still looking for Christmas Day makeup ideas, here is one for you.
STEP-BY-STEP MAKEUP
BASE Prepare your skin Apply a light moisturizer or primer all over your face as a base. Correct your skin if necessary: apply small amount of corrector directly to the area to conceal and lightly tap it on with your ring finger. Peach corrector: blue under eyes circles Yellow based or green corrector: redness, pimples
Step 1: Foundation
MAC Face and Body : Apply a sheer foundation all over your face with a foundation brush. Product used: MAC Face and Body C2 Apply concealer where necessary, the concealer should exactly match the foundation. Do not use a lightershade as this will only highlight the imperfections. Product used: MAC Select Cover up
Step 2: Highlighter
Apply the highlighter straight down the middle of your nose, under the eyes, the forehead, cupids bow and chin and blend with your fingers. Product used:YSL Touche Eclat
Step 3: Powder
Set the base with a light powder using a powder puff or powder brush. I like to apply the powder only to the T-Zone, and leave the rest of the face free of powder, as it sets into the fine lines and only emphasize them more and also too much powder will make the skin look very dry. Product used: MAC Mineralize skinfinish medium
Step 4: Bronzer
Apply Bronzer to the temples, on the cheekbones and just right under the jaw line in a figure of 3. Product used: Rimmel Natural Bronzer
Step 5: Blush
Smile and apply the blush to the apples of your cheeks. Product used: MAC Blush in Pink Swoon
EYES
Step 6
Apply translucent face powder over the eye area as a base with fluffy brush. Product used: MAC Skinfinish medium
Step 7
Use an eyeshadow shade two shades darker as your own skin color and apply with a blending brush in circular motion into the lid crease starting at the outside corner of the eyes. Product used: MAC Eyeshadow in Texture
Step 8
Apply a bronze eyeshadow to the lids with a firm brush or your fingers. Product used: MAC Eyeshadow in Bronze
Step 9
Apply a medium or dark brown shade with a firm brush to the outer corner of the eyes and blend with a fluffy blush into the crease and also over the previously applied eyeshadow to give depth and dimension to the crease. Product used: MAC Eyeshadow in Embark
Step 10
Line your eyes with a black pencil and smudge with a pencil brush or a cotton bud. Also apply the pencil to the lower lid waterline. Product used: MAC eyepencil in Smolder
Step 11
Apply a light shimmery eyeshadow to the inner corner of the eye and just under the brown bone with a small blending brush
Step 12
Apply two coats of black mascara to the upper and lower lashes. Product used: L'OrealLash Architect 4D Mascara
Step 13
Brush the eyebrows upwards and define them with an eyedefiner pencil and eyeshadow or a brow pencil. The color should match the brow color exactly, never go lighter or darker. Product used: Boots No7 Brow Pencil LIPS
Step 14
Apply red lip liner around your lips, starting at the cupids bow, and then fill in the lips, this will make the lipstick last longer. Product used: MAC lip pencil in Redd
