How to look slimmer instantly

You know these fat days... when just nothing seems to fit... and you know what, you can look two dress sizes bigger just by wearing the wrong clothes. But the good news is that when you choose the right fabrics and designs, you can shrink overnight!
Here are my favourite tips and tricks how to appear slimmer instantly:

Always wear fitted clothes on the largest part of your body. Loose and baggy clothes will only make you look bigger.

It's a no no!

That's better!

Wearing the same colour or tone of colour top and bottom will make you appear taller  and slimmer.

Looking tall and lean

Not a good look!

Wear darker colours on the biggest part of you body. That doesn't need to be black, try colours such as navy blue, dark grey,  brown or charcoal black. The
darker the colour, the more light it absorbs and the slimmer you will appear.

Use accessories to divert attention away from your not so flattering bits towards your best features. If you have great legs show them off.  If you have a great bust line show that off.

Always try to create a waist, regardless your body shape. This is easily done by wearing fitted jackets, tops or belts. Wearing well tailored clothes
will generally sculpt your body into shape.

Necklines can also make a huge difference. Avoid high necklines if you are big busted, and opt for  more wide scoop neck and deep V-Line.
Wrap dresses and wrap blouses are also very slimming.

Avoid shinny, stiff, or bulky fabrics.  Slimming Fabrics are silks, lightweight flannels, jersey, linen and  cottons.    Knits need to be flat kits, jersey, double knits, anything that doesn’t hug the body too tightly.

Looking chunky!

Slimming fabric!

To elongate your legs, wear flesh toned or nude pumps that matches your skin tone of your legs. If its cold outside, wear tights in the same colour as your shoes. Also opt for pointy shoes, as this will help elongate your legs. Avoid chunky shoes and flats, and try always to  wear heels. Even  few inches extra can do wonders for your shape, making you look taller and slimmer.

  1. Excellent post! Legs in heels always look better you're right - it's just a shame some of them are so damn painful! xo

  2. WOW, these are really good tips and I don't think a lot of women know them. It's so true, especially with Jessica Simpson to wear something tight on the bigger part because I see a lot of women wearing really baggy pants when skinny ones would make them look slimmer. I loved reading through these, they were very helpful. The pics showing the examples were perfect too :)

Thanks so much for your sweet comment, definitely following you now
